At this Japanese hotpot place, there are 4 levels of ayce wagyu meat, with the lowest level only includes American wagyu, and the highest has American, Australian, and Japanese wagyu. Besides, levels 2-4 also let you order specialty dish like nigiri, tartare, and bone marrow, which taste good. The sukiyaki broth tastes good and is on the sweeter side while the spicy miso broth is kinda bland. For meat, Aus wagyu is overall more tender. They only have 3 cuts of beef: brisket and chuck ribeye are equally as good with brisket has a bit more fat; shoulder has least fat and not as good to me. They also have chicken and pork which actually look pretty good but we did not try. Veggie and other things options are pretty limited. They have an area for you to get sauce, sides, and dessert but a couple things were not available and milk tea tastes bad. I'd def come back (but not often) cuz the beef is pretty good and price is not too expensive.

The broth was good, we got the house special and SukiYaki. The meat options were good. Good service. We got the basic hot pot deal. It is pricy but ultimately worth the money. Good option for foreigners and English speakers. The tablet used to order, if you haven't done it before, is a little hard to learn but someone will walk you through. Overall great experience. The only downside was the quality of the bathroom. It did not flush twice and the other did not have soap. There are two gender neutral bathrooms.

The Food The quality of the meat was top-tier. Everything was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. If you are looking for high-quality Wagyu and a unique hot pot/BBQ experience, this is the place to be. The Service (Shout-out to Nicolas!) What made the night truly special was the service. A huge thank you to Nicolas! He went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. He was extremely helpful, providing clear explanations of the menu and guiding us on how to get the best flavors out of our meal.

Chubby Cattle was such a fun experience for my first hot pot! We couldn’t reserve a table for 2 but were able to be seated right away on a Saturday evening. The staff took the time to explain the iPad ordering and the self-serve station, which was helpful. Though, for first-timers, it would help to have a sheet or guidebook for tips on how to have a successful hot pot experience (ex: order of vegetables versus meat versus noodles, timing, etc.) Thankfully, I was with an expert and we hade a great time. We got the basic package and got the wagyu, pork and chicken with a lot of veggies (loved the pumpkin the most) and udon. The flavors were perfect from the broth and the staff was very kind in providing extra utensils, like tongs and forks. And, the cocktails were super delicious and priced really affordably (I’d recommend the apricot and the lychee drinks). I would love to return with a larger group and try more broths and use more of their self-service items!

If you are the sort of vegetarian that would go to a place like this with your meat-eating family, this review is for you. The Spicy Miso broth is the only vegetarian one, but it is very tasty. I had carrots, mushrooms, rice cake, and udon noodles to cook. There are eggs and a ton of condiments at a relish bar to jazz things up. The seaweed salad was nice. I ordered the sweet potato fries because I was blindly hungry after a day of airport travel. I was distracted enough by all the interesting cooking going on that they were cold by the time I got to them. They were fine. The fried dough with a generous side of sweetened condensed milk was definitely dessert. There were four ice creams available - strawberry, cookies and cream, matcha, and I forget. My daughter did cookies and cream and matcha and liked them both very much. A note on pricing: a table all orders the same level (silver, gold, etc) of serving. Vegetarians are charged half that rate. The staff at this restaurant are amazing and do a really good job.

Just wrapped up dinner there with a guest. Found it via Google map and boy am I glad to dine there tonight. Menu is simple and just enough options so it's perfectly balanced. Quality of food was excellent and I give it 5 star!

I recently visited this restaurant and was really impressed with the overall experience. The menu had plenty of good options, making it easy to find something that fit exactly what I was in the mood for. Service was fast, and everything came out quickly without feeling rushed. The staff was very nice and attentive, checking in just the right amount without being overbearing. I especially have to highlight the wagyu—it was high quality, tender, and full of flavor, definitely the star of the meal. Overall, it’s a place I would recommend to anyone looking for a great dining experience with both variety and quality.

Chubby Cattle in Philadelphia is a culinary gem that redefines the hot pot experience. What truly sets this restaurant apart is its commitment to quality ingredients, especially the luxurious A5 Wagyu beef. Despite the surprisingly quiet atmosphere on a busy holiday like New Year's, the food more than made up for the lack of a crowd. The interactive, high-tech dining experience, with its convenient iPad ordering and conveyor belt for a seamless flow of fresh ingredients, perfectly complements the premium offerings. The broths are rich and flavorful, and the thinly sliced Wagyu melts in your mouth, providing a truly superior experience. While the 90-minute time limit can feel a little rushed, it's a small trade-off for the exceptional quality and flavor of the meal. Chubby Cattle is a must-visit for anyone seeking a high-end hot pot experience in Philly.
